Jesse has a unique musical background. He has studied the highland bagpipes, uilleann pipes, border pipes and whistles extensively and also has his undergraduate degree in jazz drum-kit. He is a member of the 16 time World Pipe Band champion Shotts and Dykehead Caledonia Pipe Band. He is a co-founder of the Celtic-fusion band MacTalla Mor. With MacTalla Mor he has performed at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas, Pete Seeger's Clearwater festival, ESPN studios and many other music festivals and concert halls.
He is a recent masters graduate from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
He has studied highland pipes with Finlay MacDonald, Ross Ainslie, Willie Ross, George Bell and Tommy Shearer, and studied uilleann pipes primarily with Jarlath Henderson.
In addition to bagpipes and drum set he enjoys playing the guitar and the piano/organ.
Currently Jesse teachers music at the Marvelwood School and is the music director at the First Congregational Church of Washington CT. He operates a private teaching studio in Connecticut and is available for zoom/skype lessons.
